Our Program

Hunt Ridge Montessori School has 3 mixed-age primary classrooms. Children aged 2 years, 8 months to 6 years old are guided by a Montessori trained Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher who carefully observe and support each child’s growth. Buttercups | 3 Year Olds

The first year of the Montessori Primary Program lays the foundation for your child’s independence, confidence, and love of learning. Our first year students absorb routines, develop concentration, and build essential skills through hands-on Practical Life and Sensorial work.  They learn how to be part of a community, observe and emulate older classmates, and discover the joy of purposeful activity. This strong beginning prepares them for deeper academic exploration in the second year and confident leadership in the third.

Extended Day option until 2 pm
After having lunch with their friends, the children enjoy a restful nap followed by soothing activities like creating art or reading books. These children need a recommendation from their Lead Teacher to join this program and be potty trained.

Daffodils | 4 Year Olds

Children in this program have the opportunity to engage more deeply with the Montessori curriculum in a familiar, nurturing environment with extended afternoons, 2 days per week. Children stay for lunch and have a brief rest time, followed by afternoon classroom education.

Pure Fun option on Monday, Wednesday and Friday until 2 pm.
Pure Fun is an optional program offered to these same four‑year‑old students.
Parents may choose 1, 2 or 3 classes of Pure Fun. There is a fee for each Pure Fun class.

Each five‑week session of Pure Fun features engaging, hands-on classes such as Art, Baking, Science, Games, Tennis, TaeKwon Do, Yoga, and more. Children are invited to explore new interests right here at Hunt Ridge Montessori School with trusted instructors.

Sunflowers | 5 Year Olds

Five year old children are ready for a full day of purposeful exploration and deeper engagement in the Montessori environment. These students remain at school for lunch and continue with an enriched afternoon work cycle until 2:45 pm, allowing them extended time to follow their interests, refine skills, and take on new challenges. As the oldest members of the classroom community, our Extended Day children embrace their role as leaders.

Their afternoons are filled with meaningful and memorable experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Children delight in Tapping Our Maples for a Pancake Feast, enjoying a French Luncheon with Madame Jolicoeur, Reciting Poetry, Planting Bulbs, and participating in Field Trips to the Ice Rink, Police and Fire Stations, Bowling, and more.
