Dear Parents,


Welcome to May! Spring has finally come to Connecticut! There are many items on the agenda before the end of the year, so please make note of them!


Tick Alert! We have had another report from a parent that a tick was found on a child’s clothing after school. Please be diligent about looking over your children. They like to hide in elbows, arm pits, behind knees and ears, in the groin area and beyond!


May 5 Tie-Dying 😊

May 12 Dismissal @ 12:00 noon for all students except the Extended Day Students

May 12 Graduation – Extended Day children

May 23 Piano Recital – 10:30 am – Parents of Mrs Brown’s students only!

May 29 HRMS walk in the Memorial Day Parade. Contact the office to walk with us!

May 29-30 Memorial Day – NO SCHOOL

June 6 Last Day of School & Playground Farewell - 12:00 dismissal for everyone


Tie-Dye Day

We will be tie-dying with your child on a warm and sunny day in May…we’re hoping for May 5th! It is always such a colorful time!!!!


Early Dismissal – May 12

All students (except for Extended Day students) will be dismissed on Friday, May 12th at 12:00 noon. (Make up day for Pure Fun “Spring Fun” is June 5th.)


Graduation - May 12, 1:00-2:00 pm

We will be hosting a Graduation Ceremony for our Extended Day students.


Suzuki Piano /Music Recital – May 23 @ 10:30am

The children who have been taking Suzuki piano lessons throughout the year with Mrs. Maurya Brown will be playing their finest pieces! The children in Group Music will perform as well!! For the parents whose child is involved with Individual Piano or Group Music class with Maurya Brown, you have received an invitation to the Recital!


Memorial Day Parade

There will be no school on Monday, May 29th and Tuesday, May 30th. If you are interested in walking in the parade, please contact the office.


Last Day & Playground Farewell – June 6 @ 11:00 am

The last day of school will be Tuesday, June 6th. All the children will be dismissed at 12:00 noon. There will be an opportunity for you to visit with other parents and say goodbye to your child’s teachers on the playground. If you wish to join us, please bring a picnic lunch and blanket and join us on at 11:00 am.

Thank you all for a most wonderful year. I cannot even begin to tell each and every family how grateful we are. We are thankful to you for the opportunity to teach your child every day since September. A big thank you to all the parents who gave their time to read to the children or do a craft. We appreciate your help so much!
