April Newsletter

Dear Parents,

We all love being outdoors this time of year, especially with the children. Please take a few minutes to check for ticks because they will soon be out in full force.

April 12 - 16 Spring Recess – NO SCHOOL

April 22 Egg Hunt!

Recycle Your Crayons!

Have extra crayons lying around that you’d like to recycle?! We’re teaming up with Crazy Crayons and the National Crayon Recycling Program to do our part in keeping 120,000 pounds of unwanted crayons out of landfills. Please bring your unwanted, broken crayons into school…we’ll be collecting them from now until Friday, April 9th. Wrappers should be kept on whenever possible. Feel free to ask your local restaurants for their unwanted crayons too! These recycled crayons will then be made into crazy crayons.

Spring Recess

School will be closed April 12 - 16. We hope that you have a relaxing time away from school. If you are traveling outside of the tristate area (NJ, NY, RI) we appreciate your consideration in testing before you return to school.

Egg Hunt

There will be an Egg Hunt for all students on Thursday, April 22 *weather permitting.* Each class will have their own hunt on the playground and now there will be 3 chances to find the golden egg! Unfortunately, we cannot welcome parents to watch this year, but we’ll take loads of pictures to share with you all.

Spring Cleaning!

Will you kindly send in 2 containers of Disinfecting Wipes to school with your child. We have been so vigilant in wiping down the classroom tables, chairs and the tables in the lunchrooms. Let’s not forget the sinks in the bathrooms and the door frames. Thank you so much for helping to keep our classrooms and all areas of our school clean!

Great Time to be Outside - Art, Plant, Read!

This is a great time of year to schedule a visit to your child’s class. Perhaps you and another Parent would like to schedule a craft, plant some bulbs or seeds, do an art project, listen to some of our readers, or perhaps you would like to read a book to your child’s class? We welcome you to join us outside in the fresh air for any of these opportunities. Please call the office or reach out to your Room Parent to schedule your visit!

Happy Spring!
